Privacy Policy
1. Overview and scope
This Privacy Policy explains how OC Presentation Designs ("I", "me") collects, uses, protects, and shares information when you visit ocdesigns.info, submit an inquiry, or work with me. It applies to visitors and clients in the United States and is governed by U.S. law, including the Federal Trade Commission Act's rules on fair and truthful business practices, the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA), and the comprehensive privacy laws of other states, including Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon, and Montana. I only handle the information needed to run this site and respond to your inquiries.
Visitors outside the United States may have additional rights under their local law. I will honor those requests wherever I can, and the Data Processing Policy describes how data is handled day to day.
2. Information I collect
- Identifiers: your first and last name and your email address.
- Professional and commercial information: your company, the project type you select, and the services you are interested in.
- Message content: whatever you write in the inquiry form or send by email, which may include details about your project, timelines, and your organization.
- Internet and network activity: pages viewed, approximate location derived from your IP address, browser and device type, and the site you arrived from, collected in aggregate.
- Cookie data: the preference stored in your browser when you accept or dismiss the cookie notice on this site.
3. How I use your information
- To respond to your inquiry and prepare a quote or proposal.
- To deliver presentation design and training services and manage our working relationship.
- To send the Decked Out newsletter, where you have subscribed.
- To understand in aggregate which pages are useful so I can improve the site and the content I share.
- To keep records for tax, accounting, and legal compliance.
- To protect the site and my business from spam, fraud, and abuse.
4. Cookies, analytics, and your choices
Cookies are small files stored on your device. I use them to remember your cookie preference and, where analytics are enabled, to gather aggregated usage statistics. I do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and I do not sell or share personal information, so there is no advertising opt-out for you to exercise.
You can change your cookie choice at any time using the Cookie preferences link in the footer of this site, or block cookies in your browser settings. Because I do not sell or share personal information and do not run cross-context behavioral advertising, browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals are honored by default. Some site features may not work as intended if cookies are blocked.
5. Sharing your information
I do not sell your personal information, and I do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA and the other state privacy laws. I do not use your information for targeted advertising.
I share information only in these limited situations:
- Service providers and contractors that run this site and my business: the platform and hosting provider that stores the site and its inquiry submissions, the email service that delivers inquiry notifications and newsletters, the scheduling tool used when you book a call, and the email client I correspond from. They are contractually limited to using your information to perform services for me.
- Professional advisers, such as my accountant, where needed for tax and legal compliance.
- Authorities, where I am legally required to disclose information or need to protect my rights.
- A successor business, if the studio is ever sold or merged, in which case your information may transfer as part of that business and this policy would continue to apply.
6. Your privacy rights under U.S. law
If you live in California or in a state with a comprehensive privacy law, including Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon, and Montana, you have the following rights, subject to the limits and exceptions in those laws:
- To know what personal information I have collected about you, and how it is used and shared.
- To access a copy of that information.
- To correct information that is inaccurate.
- To delete personal information I hold about you.
- To obtain a portable copy of the information you provided to me.
- To opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising, although I do not carry out those activities.
- To limit the use and disclosure of sensitive personal information, which I do not collect.
- Not to be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.
7. How to make a request
Email me at oreet@ocdesigns.info or use the contact form on this site. I will acknowledge your request, confirm your identity by matching the details you provide against my records, and respond within 45 days, or sooner where your state requires a shorter period. If I need more time, I will explain why and take no more than an additional 45 days.
An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf with your written permission, and I may still ask you to confirm the request directly. California residents can also ask to know the categories and specific pieces of personal information collected, the categories of sources, the business purposes for collecting it, and the categories of third parties with whom I share it, all of which are described in this policy. I do not sell or share personal information and have not done so in the past 12 months, so no opt-out is required, and I do not offer financial incentives in exchange for personal information.
If you live in Virginia, Colorado, or Connecticut and I decline your request, you can appeal by replying to my decision. I will review it and respond in writing within 45 days, and I will tell you how to contact your state attorney general if you remain unsatisfied. Exercising your rights is always free, and I will never treat you differently for asking.
8. Data retention
Inquiry submissions and email correspondence are kept for up to three years after our last contact, so I can pick up a conversation you may return to. If we work together, project records and related correspondence are kept for up to seven years to satisfy tax and accounting requirements. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe, along with a minimal suppression record so I do not email you again. Analytics data is kept only in aggregate and is not linked to you. Your cookie preference stays in your browser until you clear it.
9. How I protect your information
Inquiry submissions are stored in an access-controlled database and are visible only to me. Access to my email, project files, and website account is protected by passwords and, where available, two-factor authentication. I collect only the information I need to quote and deliver a project, and I am glad to sign an NDA before confidential material is shared. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so I cannot promise absolute security, but I keep these safeguards current.
10. If a breach happens
If a security incident affects your personal information and creates a risk of harm, I will notify you and the relevant state authorities as required by applicable U.S. law, without unreasonable delay.
11. Children's privacy
This site and my services are intended for businesses and professionals, not children. I do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13, the age set by the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If you believe a child under 13 has sent me information, contact me and I will delete it promptly.
12. Emails and newsletters
Newsletter emails identify OC Presentation Designs as the sender, include my contact details and a working unsubscribe link, and honor your opt-out within 10 business days, as required by the CAN-SPAM Act. You can also reply to any newsletter and ask me to remove you.
13. Changes to this policy
If the way I handle information changes, I will update this page and revise the date at the top. Material changes will be highlighted on the site so returning visitors can see what is different, and I will continue to describe my practices accurately, as the Federal Trade Commission Act requires.
